biography
zealots wakash was born in the undersea colony of the poiya-ekar, a reclusive group of raen which formerly resided under the deep mesopelagic zone of the ruby sea. approximately 1800 years ago, their leader, poiya, disturbed by increasing influence of yanxia and hingashi on the undersea raen, and in the possession of a magic pearl, found a new home for a group of like-minded settlers. there, they would learn to grow crops, cleanse the air to breathe, light their way with a special bioluminescent fungus, and smelt metal mined in undersea caves, all aided with pure water provided by poiya's magic pearl, a curious artifact which also granted seeming immortality to the bearer.poiya, elevated to godhood after their elective passing, has been reincarnated seven times since. 390 years ago, oka-cha-topor poiya foresaw a reincarnation looming, and the next male child born was named the next reincarnation of poiya: wakash poiya, taking possession of the pearl on their fifteenth birthday. the little god little wakash proved a reformer. they sought to end the system of bonded concubinage instituted long ago, horrified at the lecherousness of their immediate predecessor. rather than lock theirself away, they participated actively in community events and rituals. the poiya-ekar entered what, for them, could be considered a golden age.approximately four years ago, the bubble holding the sea at bay from the poiya-ekar's home burst. there was no warning. there was no reason given. it simply popped, crushing all under the weight of the sea, save for wakash and their sole concubine, asi-rasanpe, saved with the pearl's magic. the surface circus rescued by a fishing vessel, curious as to the explosion coming from the sea's depths, wakash and asi-rasanpe were dropped in the port of kugane, where they became something of a spectacle. none could understand their strange language, nor their way of life. they were treated as kami of sorts, but the local government was already planning on removing them from the city, repatriating to some manner of undersea raen city ignorant of any cultural clash that may ensue.fortune would strike for the pair, who came under the wing of an eccentric cultural researcher, who ensured their survival by gifting them a domicile and allowance overseas in ul'dah, that they may continue their lineage, all to become an object of study. at some point. he hasn't shown his face in aldenard since they've arrived.

the magic item wakash is in possession of an extremely valuable magical item: their pearl. it grants them magical abilities, including the ability to remove impurities from water, some offensive abilities, underwater breathing, the ability to change their body to look however they wish over time, and, most importantly, immortality. while embedded inside of their body, it is a physical item which can be removed. concubines the reincarnation of poiya, historically, was an important position, and wakash's predecessors took many concubines and had many children. however, wakash and their sole concubine, asi-rasanpe, who is the only other living poiya-ekar, struggle to have even one child, seemingly signalling the end of their people. a return to normalcy while their people may all be deceased, wakash is happy to lend their services to the people of their new home, performing public water cleansing rituals whenever called upon. the auspice during their time in hingashi, wakash became enamored with the tale of a white tiger auspice named byakko. they will stop anything they're doing to talk about him.

about me
hello! i am wakash's writer, you can call me mud. i am a 30ish year old lesbian and i've been writing off and on for a good portion of my life, and roleplaying seriously for the past few years. wakash is an older character of mine i've updated to be up to my current standards. i love creating new cultures for my characters that fit into the game's existing world. i also love au ra a lot. i'm currently in the central timezone. my preferred writing style is para or multi-para, but i require some leeway to occasionally write a shorter post or take longer to write due to wrist pain.my other characters can be found here
guidelines
001 i prefer that anyone i rp with be 21 years old at least. 002 absolutely no transphobia, lesbiphobia, homophobia, racism, ableism, sexism, fatphobia, anti-indigeneity, or zionism. in addition, despite being very outwardly feminine, wakash is amab nonbinary and only uses they/them pronouns, please respect their gender identity. 003 i do not engage with people who use ai for text or images, whether it be on carrds or for rp responses or whatever. if i wanted to rp with an ai, there are plenty of websites i could find that would let me do that. 004 if i have my tag on, i'm more often than not okay for walkups. i try to be approachable. i do prefer if you send a tell first, but won't shy away if you just walk up and start talking. 005 i am not really looking for erp on this character. if you really want to do that with them, you'll have to become a concubine. 006 i don't think it's fun to rp with modern/s9 characters, ancients/ascians, sin eaters, wols/npcs/etc, so i ask that you save yourself the trouble and seek other people to rp with. i'm okay with other stuff, like voidsent/ashkin/etc, if it's interesting! 007 of course, keep ooc and ic separate!
